How yearly subscription works
Hour balance refills and billing
If you want to continue learning with your tutor after a trial lesson, you can choose a yearly subscription to their lessons. The yearly plan will help you stay committed to your learning goals as well as save money.
After you choose your plan, every 28 days we’ll refill your account with lesson hours. For example, if you’ve chosen 2 hours per week when subscribing, you’ll get 8 hours automatically added every 28 days.
Payment for the yearly plan is charged automatically to your saved payment method every 364 days.
Lesson scheduling
You can schedule any number of hours per week, as long as you have available hour balance.
It’s important that you schedule all hours before your balance is refilled every 28 days (4 weeks), otherwise some unscheduled hours will be written off and can’t be refunded.
How many hours will be written off?
If you have some unused and unscheduled hours on the day when your balance refills (that is, every 4 weeks), the weekly amount of hours per your chosen plan will roll over to the next 4 weeks and the remaining hours will be written off.
For example:
- You chose a subscription of 16 hours per 4 weeks (which is 4 lessons per week)
- You used 10 hours
- You still have 6 hours remaining on the day when your balance refills
- 4 hours will roll over to the next 4 weeks (because you've got 4 lessons/week plan), and 2 hours will be written off.
How to avoid losing hours on the balance renewal date?
The best possible way to avoid hours being written off is to schedule all the balance you have with your tutor.
Feel free to schedule lessons in advance (not necessarily for the upcoming week or month), for as far ahead as your tutor’s availability allows. Even if the time may not suit your schedule perfectly right now, you can reschedule your lessons later. The weekly lessons feature will also help you ensure a regular schedule.
Cancellation
You can cancel your yearly plan anytime in your settings if you don’t want to be charged again.
Postponing the billing date of your plan
You can postpone your renewal date by up to 20 days when you need more time to use your lessons. On the new renewal date, we’ll refill your lesson balance and charge your saved payment method. If you need to refill your balance earlier than your new renewal date, you can renew your subscription immediately anytime. You can change your renewal to a later date once per billing cycle.
For example, you start your yearly subscription on Jun 20, 2022.
If you don’t make any postponements, it will end on June 19, 2023, and you’ll be charged for the plan renewal on the same day, unless you cancel before that.
If you postpone your billing date for 20 days, either consecutive or not, the plan will end on July 9, 2023, and will be renewed on this same day.
Upgrading and downgrading your plan
Upgrading or downgrading is not currently available for the yearly plan.
Transferring your balance and changing price
Transferring your balance to another tutor and/or changing price for lessons is not yet available for yearly subscriptions. Our team is working on adding these features in the upcoming iterations.
