Weekly lessons
Understand how weekly lessons work and how you can benefit from them
Want to know more about how Rihisi works, the best practices to attract students and how to highlight your skills and experience? Click on the link or browse the Tutors Academy for more helpful resources.
How do weekly lessons work?
Students can now schedule weekly lessons for regular, repeating times. Weekly lessons give tutors a more consistent schedule and a more steady income. They give students better learning outcomes.
When a student schedules weekly lessons, their chosen time slots are reserved for them (and are not available for other students).
The next 2 weeks of weekly lessons will be displayed on your Rihisi calendar, and appear on the My Lessons page as reserved. The lessons are scheduled every week, as soon as the previous lesson gets confirmed.
How do I control my schedule with weekly lessons?
You always have full control over your schedule. Keep your availability accurate by connecting your Google calendar and using the booking windows on the Rihisi calendar.
Rescheduling and canceling weekly lessons
If you need to reschedule or cancel one single lesson, be sure to contact your student and discuss an alternate time.
If you need to reschedule, or change the days or times of a specific student’s weekly lessons, ask the student to cancel weekly lessons at the current time slot and schedule weekly lessons for a new time. Only students can schedule weekly lessons.
Taking time off and changing your schedule
If you schedule time off on Rihisi, weekly lessons will be paused for your students. They will resume after your time off is over.
If you need to change your schedule from week to week, simply add your non-Rihisi appointments to your connected Google calendar. Any lessons scheduled at the same time will be canceled automatically.
If you need to change your schedule permanently, adjust your available time slots on your Rihisi calendar. Any weekly lessons that you are no longer available for will be canceled automatically.
What if I’m not able to commit to weekly lessons?
We believe weekly lessons have great benefits for tutors. They give the opportunity for a more steady income and a consistent schedule.
However, if you’re not able to commit to teaching weekly lessons, please tell your students. They can use the ‘One-by-one Schedule’ option to book lessons with you.
Note: In case your student missed more than 1 lesson (automatically scheduled by weekly lesson feature), please contact your student to confirm their presence on the next lesson.
In case of no response from the student, please cancel upcoming weekly lessons.
