What is a Super tutor

You may have noticed the Super tutor badge and the Super tutor filter. We award the Super tutor status to tutors who have consistently impressed us over recent months.

Benefits of being a Super tutor

Super tutor badge: having the badge on your profile significantly increases the number of students who book trials with you, helping you grow your business and increase your earnings.
Super tutor filter: Learners can now use filters to search exclusively for Super tutors. With this and the badge, Super tutors now have a 15% higher chance of getting a trial booking.

We also plan to introduce other benefits for Super tutors, so stay tuned.

New Super tutor requirements from Jan 1st 2024

After gathering more data on what positively influences a student’s learning experience, we’ve decided to update our criteria.

This change makes the Super tutor status accessible to tutors who aren’t taking on new students, and raises the bar in other areas that are important for learners.

These changes will come into effect on 1 January, 2024.

How can you become a Super Tutor?

1. Assessment period

On the 1st day of every month, we’ll look at your statistics over the last 90 days. If you meet the criteria, you’ll become a Super Tutor for the rest of the month.

2. Assessment criteria

Over the last 90 days, all the following must be true for you to receive the Super tutor status this month.

*If you don’t teach any trial lessons during the 90-day period, these criteria will not apply to you.

**This requirement will not apply to you if you don’t receive any first messages from potential students during the 90-day period.

3. Keeping the Super tutor status

If you’re awarded the status, you’ll keep it until the end of the month. Then, we’ll assess whether you meet the criteria to keep the status for the next month.

If you are absent for a class, you’ll lose the Super tutor status for the rest of the month.

In the meantime, here are some top tips to help you meet the criteria and become a Super tutor:

★ Have as much availability as possible

This will increase the number of students who take lessons with you. It also ensures your regular students can book lessons at convenient times. Ensure you are genuinely free to teach in all your available hours.

★ Make it clear if you don’t teach certain students

If you don’t teach certain students, like young learners or low levels, mention this in your description. This will reduce your chances of getting trials booked with unsuitable learners.

★ Ask your students for reviews – don’t be shy!

If a student enjoys your classes, ask them for a review. Students are normally happy to write something positive about their tutor.

★ Use the time off function

To avoid canceling or rescheduling classes, block slots in your calendar using the time off function if you’re going to be busy at a time when you’re usually free to teach.

★ Create a customizable template for responses

To respond to potential students quickly, create a template message that you can easily tailor based on their learning needs.

★ Download the Rihisi App
