Facebook Community
Why has Rihisi created a new community when we already have one on Facebook?
The Facebook community’s success led us to question how we make it even better and accessible to tutors who don't use Facebook. We know that the main reason tutors weren’t joining the community was because they either didn’t have or didn’t want to use Facebook. We saw an opportunity to build a new space within Rihisi that all tutors feel comfortable joining, where you can easily find the content that you value most and co-create the experience with us. Opening up the community to all our tutors will ensure you can connect with a wider range of members who bring new experiences, perspectives and knowledge to your discussions.
When will I need to leave the Facebook community?
To allow for a smooth transition, we will keep the Facebook community open for the time being but we will stop accepting new members, posting news about Rihisi or sharing updates from our tutor development and methodology teams. The sooner members join the new community, the sooner they will be able to enjoy the benefits including themed spaces, the latest updates from Rihisi and the chance to offer feedback and suggestions.
Will the new community be as active as the Facebook community?
We are confident that with the support and participation of our tutors, we can make it a successful platform for sharing knowledge and building connections. Opening up the community to all our tutors will ensure you can connect with a wider range of members who bring new experiences, perspectives and knowledge to your discussions.
Will all the content from the Facebook community be transferred to the new community?
While the posts from the Facebook community will not be transferred to the new community, we are excited to say that new content will be created by tutors and admins alike. When you join the community, you’ll see there is already some similar content to what was in our Facebook community, including posts about Rihisi, training and methodology updates and discussions about teaching. We encourage everyone to contribute their knowledge and experience to make it great together.
Will the new community replace the Facebook community?
Our Tutors Community built within Rihisi will be the new community for our tutors, offering all the benefits of the Facebook one and many more.

We prioritize the safety of our tutors and have zero tolerance for any harassment or inappropriate behavior. Our new community offers a supportive and secure environment for all tutors, irrespective of their background. To ensure that everyone feels respected and not discriminated against, we have established clear group rules and guidelines.
We have also taken additional steps to ensure the community is a safe space for tutors to share their questions, advice and stories. These include in-depth and automated moderation in which posts containing certain words will automatically go into moderation and enabling admins to mute members when necessary so that all their posts go to moderation.
In addition, we value our tutors' privacy and safeguard their data. We have implemented measures to guarantee the security of their information. You can see more details of this in our privacy policy.
How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?
If you come across any inappropriate content or behavior, you can report it by clicking on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the post or comment. From there, you'll see an option to "Report post" or "Report reply". This will notify the moderators who will review the content and take appropriate action if necessary.
How will the new community be moderated?
We want to ensure a safe space for all our tutors free of discrimination or harassment. That’s why we have guidelines and group rules for the new community. You can view these rules by clicking on "Getting started" and in the question below.
Will l be able to block a disrespectful tutor?
Private messaging is not currently a feature of the new community, but if you see any inappropriate content or behavior, you can report it by clicking on the three dots in the top right hand corner of the post or comment. This will notify the moderators who will review the content and take appropriate action. Insulting and offensive posts and comments will be immediately removed from the community.
