Before you start tutoring on Rihisi, it’s important to familiarize yourself with our commission model. This will help you understand how the platform works, and how to make it work for you.
What commission does Rihisi charge?
It’s free to sign up for Rihisi, and we don’t charge a fee to host your profile. Commission is only charged when a tutor starts to get bookings from students.
The commission for every trial lesson with a new student is 100%. For all the subsequent lessons, the tutor is charged a percentage of the hourly rate (between 18% and 33%). The rate depends on the total number of lesson hours a tutor has taught on the platform.
The more hours you teach on Rihisi, the lower the rate of commission. The rate starts at 33% for new tutors, but after 20 hours of teaching that goes down to 28%, and so on. You will find that it decreases quickly once you start to get students and teach regular lessons.
The rates of commission are shown in the table below. Please note that the total number of completed hours is the overall number of teaching hours you have accumulated on the platform (not hours per student). Trial lessons are also counted.
