Subscription payments
Learn about the charges, when they happen, and how can you manage them
Starting from March 28, 2022 all newly-registered students have the subscription model.
What does the subscription model mean for you?
You choose the tutor by having a trial lesson. If the tutor didn’t meet your expectations, you can request up to two replacements per account.
If you decide to have lessons with the tutor after the trial, you commit to a monthly subscription of a certain number of hours per week, which you can distribute up to your liking and tutor’s availability.
Rihisi recommends you to schedule regular lessons on a weekly basis using the recurrent lessons feature for the most effective learning experience.
Every 28 days after your first subscription purchase, your card will be charged automatically for the next round of subscription, and some unused hours may be written off.
How is the subscription updated?
After you take a trial lesson, you can choose a subscription with your tutor:
When you start a subscription, you’ll pay for the first 28 days. Your subscriptions will automatically renew every 28 days until you cancel. When your subscription renews, we will charge your saved card and add hours for your next 28 days of lessons.
What if I used all my hours before my subscription renewal date and I need more?
You can add some extra hours to your subscription before the renewal date - please follow these instructions to do it. Please note that these hours may still expire if not used.
A week prior to your subscription renewal date, we will send you a reminder email to make sure you use all the hours you subscribed to.
How many hours will be written off?
If you have hours on your balance, at your billing date the amount of hours for one week will roll over to the next month and everything else will be written off.
Example:
You purchase a subscription of 16 hours (which is 4 lessons per week plan)
You use 10 hours
6 hours are left
4 hours will roll over to next month (because you will have 4 lessons per week plan), and 2 hours will be written off.
How to avoid losing hours at the renewal date?
The best possible way to avoid written off hours is to schedule all the balance you have with your tutor!
Feel free to schedule lessons in advance (not necessarily this week or only this month) for as long as your tutor’s availability allows it. Even if the time may not suit your schedule perfectly right now, you can reschedule your lessons later. Recurrent lessons feature will also help you ensure a regular schedule.
What if I cannot schedule my lessons as my tutor is temporarily unavailable?
In this case, you can change the renewal date of your subscription until your tutor becomes available again, or you feel like you need a break from regular lessons. You can also transfer your balance to another tutor in case your tutor plans to stop their tutoring journey on Rihisi.
How does changing the renewal date of the subscription work?
You can postpone your renewal date by up to 20 days when you need more time to use your lessons. On the new renewal date, we’ll refill your lesson balance and charge your saved payment method.
If you need to refill your balance earlier than your new renewal date, you can renew your subscription immediately anytime.
Your following renewals will happen every 28 days from the new selected date.
You can change your renewal to a later date once per billing cycle.
How is cancellation of the subscription different from changing the renewal date?
If you cancel your subscription, it will not renew until you decide to reactivate it. You will still be able to take all the lessons you have subscribed to during the last renewal period. However, you will still need to schedule them to avoid losing the remaining hours at the end of your billing cycle.
You can find the detailed instructions on how to postpone the renewal date, cancel, and reactivate your subscription in this article.
I decided to stop having lessons. What are my options?
If your tutor is available for teaching, and you agree to continue having lessons with them in the future, you can change the renewal date of your subscription by up to 20 days, and then use the remaining balance for lessons. We also recommend cancelling the subscription to avoid unwanted charges.
If you’re not happy with your tutor, you can transfer your subscription to another tutor of your choice.
