How to solve video and audio issues in the Rihisi Classroom
Having problems with video or audio in the Rihisi virtual classroom? Find out how to solve them below.
Are you experiencing issues with your video or audio at Rihisi classroom? Don't worry, we're here to help!
Before proceeding, we highly recommend that you review the following article and test your classroom settings prior to your lesson.
My video or audio isn’t working
Make sure you’ve allowed access to your Microphone
In Google Chrome, click the lock icon in the address bar. Make sure your camera and microphone are set to “Allow”.
In Safari, select the red camera icon located near the right side of your search bar.
Change the camera & mic access to Always Allow.
Refresh the browser tab (CTRL + R).
If you're using a Chrome device at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings for you. In that case, you can't change them here. Find out more about using a managed Chrome device.
Make sure that your microphone and camera are the default recording device, and that recording levels are correct: Windows, Mac
In case access to the microphone is granted, there might be an issue with the browser. Please use another browser or update the current one. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, Safari (for macOS users), Firefox, and Microsoft Edge
In case the issue persists, reconnect the microphone if it’s a plug-in device, or restart the computer and then trying again
Other apps (Zoom, Skype etc.) can also make the microphone unavailable for the browser. In this case, close apps by Force Quit, restart the browser, and try again. (Guide for Mac, Guide for Windows)
The other person’s video or audio isn’t working
Message the other person: You can message your tutor/student via the Rihisi chat and ask them to check their camera and microphone settings. Provide them with the link to this article
Check for mute: Ensure that the other person is not on mute in the Rihisi classroom. Ask them to check their audio settings and ensure that their microphone is not muted.
Try another video communication tool: If the issue persists, you can suggest using a different video communication tool, such as Skype or Zoom, to continue your lesson. Send a message to your student or tutor to inform them of the change in communication tool and provide the necessary information for the new platform.
By taking these steps, you can quickly and easily troubleshoot any technical problems you may encounter in the Rihisi Classroom and continue your lesson without interruption.
