Technical Issues Troubleshooting Tips

Quick tips for troubleshooting common technical issues with Rihisi Classroom and third-party communication tools

We prepared some handy tips to troubleshoot common technical issues that you may encounter while using Rihisi Classroom

Before proceeding, we highly recommend that you review the following article and test your classroom settings prior to your lesson.

  • Make sure you’re using a supported browser on a desktop computer. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, Safari (for macOS users), Firefox, and Microsoft Edge

  • Clear cache and cookies in Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge
  • Try using Incognito mode. This will prevent your browser from saving any browsing cookies, website data, or any add-ons that may affect the connection. However, it will keep any downloaded files or bookmarks created during the session

  • Check your network equipment and hardware, as if the issue is caused by your hardware or specific software, we recommend contacting the relevant manufacturer or internet provider directly for assistance

  • Disable browser add-ons (extensions), Antivirus, or any other security software such as VPN, Ad-blockers, or Anti-trackers

  • Force Quit all Apps that might use your camera/microphone

If you are using a Windows computer, please click [ctrl] + [alt] + [del] at the same time, Windows will open a simple menu on a plain background. Select the “Task Manager” option in this menu to launch Task Manager in a new window.

If you are using a Mac device, simultaneously press down the [CMD] + [ALT] + [ESC] keys on your keyboard. This will open a window containing a list of all currently opened programs and applications that are running in the background.

  • Restart your PC, as this will clear memory and restore the device's inner processes and functions. Ensure that you do not launch any applications that may use the camera or microphone in the background, such as a webcam, from the start

If the issue persists, you can suggest using a different video communication tool, such as Skype or Zoom, to continue your lesson. Send a message to your student or tutor to inform them of the change in communication tool and provide the necessary information for the new platform.
