Language learning progress

How long does it take to progress

Language learning takes time. Some of the indicators of your progress can be your personal feeling (i.e. you notice it's getting easier for you to talk to your colleagues in a foreign language), your tutor's feedback, and the results of your level tests. Rihisi's level tests are especially helpful because they can show you in a very clear way where you started and how much you've progressed.

When you start your learning journey on Rihisi you will start in 1 of the Rihisi language levels. From that point, it takes approximately 30 lessons to get to the next level. If you take 3 lessons a week, you will arrive at the next level in 3 months.

How do we know that it takes 3 months to progress from 1 level to the next?

We took all language competencies and grammar from the CEFR and divided them by the study frequency Rihisi recommends to its student: 3 times per week. Regular study habits are important to see learning progress faster.

It takes longer to get through a level the higher your level is. But why?

That’s because the more grammar and vocabulary you learn, the more topics you can talk about. At the higher levels, you are learning to combine all the language skills you have already acquired to talk about many different things, in many different ways, and to many different people.
